Project Overview:

Davies Electrical were proud to have partnered with Badge Constructions to deliver the Electrical, Data, Security and CCTV services for the entire project. With a mixture of restoration work, internal demolition and building additions, Davies Electrical rewired the entire installation with the latest technology cabling and components to future proof it for years to come.

The Gawler Civic Centre comprises the twin heritage-listed Gawler Institute and Town Hall buildings. As their collective name suggests, the two buildings are positioned at the heart of the township, facing the busy main street.

Usable space was very limited adding major challenges with the complexity of the construction involved – it’s very rare for a project of this scale to take nearly two years to deliver, but the heritage restoration of two dilapidated circa 1800s buildings requires an exceptional amount of care. The three-storey Institute building was gutted on the inside, leaving only its historic external and roof structures, and refitted.

Installation Technologies:

Building works were followed by the installation of several modern technologies, and facilities for a variety of community end-users. The Civic Centre now includes a digital business innovation hub, multi-purpose function venue, Indigenous social enterprise café, a new-look Gawler Heritage Collection Gallery and Council Library, and a refreshed Gawler Club which has been located in the Town Hall basement since 1873.

The redevelopment extends the life of these grand old buildings to be used regularly for many years to come. Given the strong local interest during the project, our team were proud to deliver a good result for the community, as well as an engaging centrepiece for anyone passing through the ‘Gateway to the Barossa’.

Project Overview:
The Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS) Project is a new purpose-built facility at the Adelaide Airport. The comprises a two-storey building with an aircraft hanger and maintenance workshop capabilities. Further to this the facility will also accommodate ‘state of the art’ aeromedical transport, administration / management and patient transfer facilities.

Davies Electrical was contracted to Supply and Install all Electrical, Communications, CCTV, MATV and Security works including the
following:

• LV Consumers Mains
• Site Main Switchboard
• Sub-Mains and distribution switchgear
• General light and power provision throughout the complex
• Exit and emergency evacuation lighting throughout the complex
• Cardiac and Body protected electrical installation
• Integrated voice and data
• Master antennae television (MATV) system
• Electronic security system incorporating access control
• IP based closed circuit television system (CCTV) and monitoring
• Nurse call system
• Standby diesel generation system incorporating fuel tanks and automatic controls
• Testing and Commissioning

Lighting Overview
Davies Electrical was involved with the Design and Installation of a complete C-Bus / DALI Lighting Control System throughout the entire complex including PE and Sensor Controls. The Exterior Lighting involved Civil Works (Trenching, Hole Boring and Footings), Conduit installation, Rag Cage Assembly and Light Pole Installation.

Project Overview:
This three-year, three-stage project involved the complete redevelopment of an existing operational aged care facility with the construction of a new 2-storey building totaling 153 beds. Stage 1 required methodology creativity, staging and design considerations to ensure client operations were continually met.

Davies Electrical was contracted to Supply and Install all Electrical, Communications, CCTV and Security works including the following:

• Temporary Power across the site
• Staged Demolition of the existing facility and associated infrastructure
• Temporary Power across the site back feeding to existing MSB
• Site Main Switchboard including a power monitoring system
• Multiple sub-mains and distribution boards throughout the installation
• Provision of general and specialised lighting throughout the complex including car-park and public lighting
• Power supplies to Mechanical, Fire, Hydraulic and specialized services
• Monitored Exit and emergency evacuation lighting throughout the complex
• Provision of a hearing augmentation system
• Integrated voice and data including copper and optical fibre cabling
• Electronic security / access control system
• CCTV System / Intercom systems including interface to the DECT phone system
• Provision of reticulated IP MATV system
• Testing and Commissioning
• As-built Manuals
